Location: Bournemouth, UK

Lynne is a social entrepreneur who build communities to solve in complexity with a focus on the determinants of health.  She is an Innovation Lead at Brink and leads the Oxygen CoLab which is cultivating a strong understanding of product and service innovation, oxygen supply chains and the oxygen ecosystem.

Lynne has significant operational and strategic expertise in scaling and supporting innovation. She has over 20 years experience in health and social care across acute, community, NHS, private and third sector services with a focus on innovation and policy influencing.  Lynne was a specialist cardiac nurse having completed a Masters in Cardio Respiratory Nursing.

Lynne spends as much time as she can on the water, it is where she finds her mind can be still. She paddles and races outrigger canoes and stand up paddleboards. There is a building evidence base around the value of blue therapy. Living in Bournemouth she can access the water every day and quickly realised that this was a privilege that many can not afford. She founded Ripple Rebels to make moments of opportunity for everyone to access to the physical and mental health benefits of stand up paddleboarding (SUP).

Questions Lynne is exploring in their work right now:

  • How can we accelerate global access to medical oxygen in low-resource-settings through working on market readiness and technology issues concurrently?
  • What type of innovative financial mechanism can help to drive demand for oxygen concentrator innovation and production?
  • How can we communicate complexity? This includes data collection, synthesis and building a point of view.
